FRAC provides advice to the Secretary on USDA forestry research programs. Nominations were reviewed by the USDA's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) and Forest Service (FS). The new members and their affiliations are as follows: · Federal and state agencies: o Bov Eav, Associate Deputy Chief for Research and Development, USDA Forest Service o William Crasper, State Forester, Wyoming · Forestry industry: o Gregory Johnson, Director of Research, Weyerhaeuser Corporation o Masood Akhtar, CEO, BioPulping International, Inc. o Catherine Mater, President, Mater Engineering, Ltd. · Forestry schools and state agriculture experiment stations: o Joseph McNeel, Director, Divison of Forestry, West Virginia University o Patricia Layton, Professor and Chair, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, Clemson University · Volunteer public groups: o John Wiens, Chief Scientist, The Nature Conservancy o Scott Jones, Executive Vice President, Forest Landowners Association Upcoming meeting notices will appear in the Federal Register and on the CSREES and FS Web sites. CSREES advances knowledge for agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being, and communities by supporting research, education, and extension programs in the Land-Grant University System and other partner organizations.
