Hi Chris,

Supposing you're using kmix, here at least there is a "mixer" button at the 
bottom and clicking on it shows several mixers, some which seem to control 
inexistant (or not working) outputs: Pulse audio, HD-Audio generic, usb pnp 
audio device (I don't have a usb audio device).

Anyway, it may be that you are not actually controlling the devuce you want.
