Don't use an old distribution. Your C2D has 64 bit, so use anything new. You can try some of the TDE live ISOs and check if it works, e.g (shameless selfadvertising) http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/cdimages/devuan/darkness-20240918.iso
