My notes say either "mplayerthumbs-trinity" (on 14.2 - which I use now) or "ibarts1-xine-trinity" (earlier version). For PDF preview "kpdf" should be sufficient. Please keep in mind that libpoppler has a bug that it will not show some not-encrypted pdfs.

testd in a VM: arch (and the tde repo) has no "mplayerthumbs-trinity" or
"ibarts1-xine-trinity". I have installed "xine-lib", "xine-ui",
"ffmpegthumbnailer", "ffmpegthumbs", "kdegraphics-thumbnailers",
"kdesdk-thumbnailers" and "tumbler". Also I have installed the full
"tde-meta", there is in konqueror an option "View" -> "preview" ->
"video". The tde gear is moving around... No video thumnail.
Imagethumbnails and pdfthumbnails are fine.
