Maybe try sudo dpkg-reconfigure tdm-trinity. And you might need to get rid of 
desktop-base, as it conflicts with desktop-base-trinity. Either apt-get purge 
desktop-base or dpkg --force-all --purge desktop-base. 

These packages (tdm-trinity & desktop-base-trinity) often give me this kind of 
problem, with false readings about missing dependencies, because they aren't 
fully installed.
