Here's my laptop driving the main screen plus two external displays and with probably 100+ Firefox tabs accounting for 90%+ of the load on the CPU: top - 13:42:36 up 4 days, 20:07, 1 user, load average: 0.57, 0.70, 1.07 Tasks: 389 total, 1 running, 388 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie $ cat /etc/debian_version 11.7 $ tde-config --version Qt: 3.5.0 TDE: R14.1.0 tde-config: 1.0 $ inxi -CG CPU: Info: 6-Core model: Intel Core i7-8750H bits: 64 type: MT MCP L2 cache: 9 MiB Speed: 3996 MHz min/max: 800/4100 MHz Core speeds (MHz): 1: 3996 2: 4000 3: 3991 4: 3996 5: 3996 6: 3954 7: 3997 8: 3999 9: 3982 10: 3996 11: 3986 12: 3998 Graphics: Device-1: NVIDIA GP107GLM [Quadro P2000 Mobile] driver: nvidia v: 470.182.03 Device-2: Chicony Integrated Camera (1280x720@30) type: USB driver: uvcvideo Device-3: Chicony Integrated IR Camera type: USB driver: uvcvideo Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: loaded: nvidia resolution: 1: 1440x900~60Hz 2: 1920x1080~60Hz 3: 1600x1200~60Hz OpenGL: renderer: Quadro P2000/PCIe/SSE2 v: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 470.182.03 The exception I see is an old test laptop with a Mobile Pentium II which sometimes gets itself into a weird state where the CPU is running so slow that even just "top" uses 10% of the CPU. However it has been doing this on and off for years - probably since before TDE forked from KDE. FWIW I have not tried running TDE as root. --Mike ____________________________________________________ tde-users mailing list -- users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to users-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Web mail archive available at https://mail.trinitydesktop.org/mailman3/hyperkitty/list/users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
