I'm pretty sure this came with the last upgrade to TDE: I now regularely have
small windows poping up on the right bottom of my screen with messages that
look like "notifications" about something that just happened (mostly some
partition having just been mounted).

Yesterday I got a big, quick series of such "notifications" from my browser.
So quick in fact that I don't know what they were about. They do disappear
quickly too (maybe from their own or because I clicked somewhere ??).

Anyway, I was wondering if there is any playe in TDE where we can control this
new "feature". I looked in TCC but could not find anything new.

Oh! It's 14.1.0 (Development) from the PSB.

Hi Thierry
PSB recently switched from R14.0.13 to R14.1.0-pre, so indeed there are changes there related to this.
R14.1.0 has a new notification mechanism for media insertion/removal/modification and they show up as small boxes as you described. You can click on them or they will disappear after about 5 seconds (or 7?).

If you don't like them, you can disable them in TCC -> Peripherals -> Storage media -> Advanced tab -> Enable device monitor notification popups.

You can alternatively decide do disable notification dialog popups and if you do so, clicking on the small notification box would open the notification dialog you are probably accustomed to from R14.0.x.

Of course you can disable both choices (no notifications at all) or have both enable too!

Cheers
  Michele
