Just to be clear, does this happen when you click on:

(1) only a particular icon
(2) some particular icons but not all icons
(3) every icon

and

(a) only in a particular context (e.g. konqueror, T menu, ...)
(b) some particular contexts but not all contexts
(c) every context

and

(A) sometimes randomly (roughly how often?)
(B) always

and

(X) Would you say there is anything unusual about your setup - especially
as relates to AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting) or
to hostname/DNS/YP/NIS/etc lookups?

and

(Y) Am I correct in assuming (from your KMail version) that you are
running Trinity R14.0.13?

and

(Z) Do you have any other potentially relevant information to share?
