Hi Nik, just did a test in Kate with the following action: 1) Action type "Generic" 2) Trigger: shortcut trigger "Return" 3) Keyboard input: "a:b:c:d:e:Enter", "Send input to" active window 4) no condition for simplicityWhen I press Enter in Kate, I correctly see "abcde" typed in for me and then the enter. If you use "Shift+enter" as keyboard input, it should do what you wanted.
