I just installed it but found the "header" highlighting text styles were
difficult to read with a light grey background.
To fix this, go to menu settings -> configure kate -> (dialog) -> (tree
view) Editor -> Fonts & Colors -> (tab) Highlighting Text Styles ->
(combo box) Markup/Markdown -> (list box) h1,h2... and make them a bit
darker.
