Why?
Tdesu (or similar tools like kdesu) worked without any problems all these years.
Sometimes it's useful to launch a file manager or a text editor, while
some others work in admin mode only (like GParted).

There are at /media directory if you already mounted them (with
Konqueror normal mode or from Bash).
Otherwise they're absent.
