I'm on R14.0.9 PSB.

Yes, I reported at least one bug related to KMix. Thanks to the fixes that were pushed to R14.0.9
a few weeks ago all the PulseAudio-KMix interaction issues on my laptop have been resolved. Now
I'm configuring a new desktop PC and have run into problems I described in my previous email. I
have some ideas for debugging and a potential workaround, but I need to find the time to see
whether any of my ideas actually work. I think my biggest concern right now is that if I
uninstall PulseAudio I don't get any sound at all (e.g. Amarok complains no output was detected,
as if ALSA was not available) - this is weird and something I have not run into in the past.
