Just in case you are a total n00b, sudo means that you will need root privileges, meaning your password. For some reason, tdm-trinity does not get activated as your default desktop, if you have other desktops installed (such as Gnome or KDE Plasma, etc.). I did not like exegnulinux, myself. (Sorry, Nik!) It *seemed* to complete the installation, but I never could get it to boot into the desktop. It would just hang in boot process, and nothing happened. There is also Q4OS (I think that's the name), which is pretty good, but bugged me in a lot of little ways. I would maybe try out AntiX, as you can get that with TDE installed, I seem to recall; it is a small and very fast distro. But I would only recommend it for laptops, not desktops with more than a single internal hard drive.
