I have tried that in libreoffice-impress.

In presentation mode there indeed is no way to "save as..." the image.
But when I switch to editing mode, there is.

Version information of libreoffice-impress on the system I use:
*** 1:5.2.7-1+deb9u11 500
        500 http://de.deb.devuan.org/merged ascii/main amd64 Packages
        500 http://de.deb.devuan.org/merged ascii-security/main amd64

HTH

Kind regards,
Stefan
