Okay, now I'm the one who needs help. 

I am not familiar with snap, but it's always good to learn new things. So I 
did install it, then tried the command that you gave me to install mathpix: 

sudo snap install mathpix-snipping-tool

And all I get are errors: 

ZOE ERROR (from /usr/lib/snap/snap): error opening file 
(/usr/share/snap/Zoe/HMM/install)
ZOE library version 2013-02-16
