Brother's CUPS drivers are next to useless, because they never update them. Trying creating a profile for it using the CUPS "Generic Postscript Printer" driver and see if that works any better (it did for me on a Brother MFC-9130CW). If I recall correctly, you can have multiple CUPS profiles for the same physical printer, and they'll be treated as different logical printers. E.
