| Are you sure that you do not have the kgtk-qt3-trinity installed?

what is the problem with kgtk-q3-trinity? I installed it today and it
made for sanity in Firefox and Pan.

Sorry I didn't understand.
You installed kgtk-q3-trinity and it messed up FF and Pan?

on the contrary: I installed kgtk-q3-trinity and it *fixed* FF and Pan!

but in the quoted message, Slavek was advising dep to remove it to fix a problem.

I still have the disappearing menu items in OpenOffice though. let's say I activate a minimized OO window; then the menu items are visible. if I pass the mouse over them, they disappear as a group but the individual item will appear directly under the mouse.

it's tolerable but it would be nice to fix. as far as I can tell, other things, at least things I use the most, are civilized.
