before i file a bug report, i want to investigate to make sure that it's 
not something in my configuration or the way protonmail itself works. 
there's too much work for too few people in tde for me to take it to them 
until i've made sure it's not something i'm doing or that a third party is 
doing. i asked here because i thought there might be some obvious box to 
tick or untick that i'd missed.
