You can try the following procedure:

1) Normally start the session.
2) In KMix, set the values as you want.
3) Exit KMix manually - without ending the session.
4) Run KMix again.
5) Logout from the session.
6) Normally start the session.
7) Check that the KMix values are the ones you want.
8) Express your joy :)
9) Fill an bug report that the values in KMix are not saved within ending 
session, only if KMix is exited manually.
