alsa's speaker-test works fine, and ffplay isn't findable in what wheezy 
repo's remain online.

I did find something that resembles a .conf update gone screwy, fixed 
that and now Noatun works, and with its equalizer working 24/7, mp3's 
sound a little better. So this problem is solved for the time being.
