That looks promising.
On this old computer , I have

-rw------- 1 glen glen 201 2018-06-16 22:38 kmailsnippetrc
glen@acmena2:~/.kde3/share/config$ ls -l email*
-rw------- 1 glen glen 156 2018-06-16 22:38 emaildefaults
-rw------- 1 glen glen 2357 2018-02-19 15:15 emailidentities

It is too late tonight, but first thing tomorrow, I will try to copy
those 5 files to the new computer.
