As I have a similar problems with lenovo and dell laptops, I have played around with your solution.
The model specification does not help in my case. 
The dell laptop shows HDMI as first card (but there is no digital output...)
With the following entry in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

options snd-hda-intel enable=1 index=0
options snd-hda-intel enable=0 index=1

the card numbers are swapped and the vol-keys are working.
