There was a discussion regarding Sailfish X (Sony Xperia X) - you better check on together.jolla.com. Better look for people reporting from US. AFAIR they recommended buying and shipping it from EU and reported that it works. https://together.jolla.com/question/138263/sfos-in-the-usa/ (a bit old post) A friend is using Xperia X as primary phone and is happy - in fact I use it in free time as well, but because of the bluetooth with the car audio issue and syncing contacts etc. I prefer the still working N9. As for flashing there are also instructions how to backup DRM keys in case you want to go back. IMO it is worth trying it as an alternative to Google and Apple. IMO it is the only one alternative at a comfortable price.
