I did a quick search (in response to your earlier question), and it seemed to indicate that "Persistent Changes" had something to do with running a live system. I don't normally run a live disc, except sometimes for troubleshooting; I generally go straight to installation. And what I described about installing to a USB stick meant that I actually run my computer from the USB. My aim is to have a complete bootable, running system, along with a home folder, on a flash drive; so that I can take it anywhere and (theoretically, at least) boot almost any computer with it. When I boot up, I never see "Persistent Changes" in my menu choices (although I've heard about it). I can do a little research and see what I discover. Once I sort out my desktop, I can try installing Slax a USB, then see if I can figure out how "Persistent Changes" works.
