Someone (Slavek?) has successfully compiled for ARM.  I don't think anyone's
ever tried TDE on the other ~7 arches KDE3 could be run on (based on Gentoo 
arch keywords for kdelibs-3.5.10).  PowerPC was one of those arches, so I'd 
say there's a good chance that you could make TDE work on your G4, but you 
might have to build from source.
