shutdown, restart, hybernation, etc. are executed from TDE in cooperation 
with login manager == TDM. But you have an active lightdm. That's why it 
does not work for you.

Note: I know we could improve this - if I remember well, there is an open 
bug report on TDE Bugzilla for it...
