It depends on which version of konsole you are using. If it's a sufficiently
recent version, it will have a "View | Split View" as a native menu item.

On my main system, konsole 16.12.0 has the "View | Split View" menu item, and
konsole 1.6.6 (which is the Trinity version) does not.

I just run tmux as the first command in konsole, so that gives me the split
capability plus other useful features, regardless of the version of konsole,
so I don't have to retrain my brain as I switch between versions of konsole
or, indeed, yakuake. (Basically, that's the same as running "screen" or
"terminator".)
