My dmesg looks like yours, except there is no "reset device" line at the end 
like in your first log and it's a lot less verbose than you second.

Mounting seems OK. There is a line with "[ 9459.301768]  sdg: sdg1". 
My "problem" is that TDE Desktop shows both sdg and sdg1. I don't know why.
