Can somebody give me a guide to getting a multi-monitor setup working using
the native tools? I'm on Debian Jessie if that makes a difference. I had it
working on a PCLInux OS install but can't remember how I did it.

Should be same regardless which distro you use.

If by "native" you mean using TDE tools, open "Trinity Control Center" -> "Peripherals" -> "Display" where what to do should be self-explanatory.

If by "native" you mean using Xorg tools, probably the best place for instruction is: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Multihead
