In comparing our respective compiler options used to build tdelibs, I notice that I had compiled with "-fvisibility=hidden -fvisibility-inlines-hidden". I think this *might* have something to do with your error. Since I had not actually added these options to CXXFLAGS, I believe that they are inserted by cmake when you pass it "-DWITH_GCC_VISIBILITY=ON".
