That's an important point what you bring up here. But are you sure that patches for making kernel headers C++ friendly wouldn't be welcome ? In the kernel logs I found the following patch descriptions:
* Rename libtraceevent 'private' struct member to 'priv' so that it
         works in C++, from Steven Rostedt
* net: Make linux/tcp.h C++ friendly (trivial)
