Given that AoE is using a raw block interface on the client side and
natively speaks the ATA command set (eg: not SCSI Block Commands / SBC)
it would require some manner of translation layer between the two.

That part would be relatively straight forward to do given the small
number of ATA commands required to get an AoE block device going..

However, this development would need to be driven by someone with the
interest + time to invest in making it happen.
