Hello

We are testing lio iscsi LUN's using targetcli in linux machines

We hace a question about configuration

Is it possible to configure scsiSN (scsi Serial Number) in the LUN's?
How we can configure this?

In IETD it's possible to configure this parameter in ietd.conf

*Lun*  *<lun>
Path=<device>,Type=(fileio|blockio)[,ScsiId=<scsi_id>][,ScsiSN=<scsi_sn>][,IOMode=(wb|ro)]
Sectors=<size>,Type=nullio*

This parameter is required by VMware ESXi to identify the LUN's
This parameter is not settable via targetcli. It can be set in configfs
by writing to

/sys/kernel/config/target/core/$HBA/$DEV/wwn/vpd_unit_serial

My understanding (Nick please jump in here if I'm wrong) is that this is
intentional to ensure all serials are unique ids.

Can you talk more about how this is hurting interoperability with VMWare
ESXi?
