Why is using fstab the preferred approach according to systemd.mount man page?

Hi all,

currently, the systemd.mount man page [1] claims that "In general, configuring mount points through /etc/fstab is the preferred approach". Why is that? One would assume systemd proposing use of systemd.mount units over /etc/fstab.
