Nope, that's not correct. I can mount /dev/vda2 on /mnt just fine.

/dev/vda2 on / type xfs (rw,relatime,seclabel,attr2,inode64,noquota)
[snip]
/dev/vda2 on /mnt type xfs (rw,relatime,seclabel,attr2,inode64,noquota)
