Hi all! The Linux Plumbers Conference is being held September 9th through the 11th in Lisbon Portugal this year. It's been a long time since Plumbers had systemd representatives and as it is in Europe this year, we are hoping to get some again. Linux Plumbers attracts core developers from the Linux Kernel, Networking, Databases, tool-chains, media, and more. The purpose of Plumbers is to get the developers of projects that interact but the developers of those projects do not interact due to being in different networking ecosystems. Getting all these developers under one roof is unique to Plumbers and key for having projects work better together. Linux Plumbers is about getting things done, and not about presenting what you have been working on. The Microconferences are organized to address issues of the day where the best solutions comes from face to face discussions. The only slides at a Microconference should just bring everyone up to speed on the problem at hand, or perhaps a proposed solution. Then a discussion should follow to discuss the various methods to solve the problems or how to create new features. Plumbers also has a "Refereed Track" which is more like a standard presentation, along side the Microconferences. The Refereed Track focus is on up and coming work, and what will become the discussions of tomorrow. All Microconferences and the Refereed Track are recorded. The Microconferences will have two cameras and three microphones as they are more focused for discussion than presentation. If you haven't been to Plumbers before, I highly recommend that you come and participate this year. Several people have said that Plumbers is the most productive conference of the year. Feel free to submit a Refereed Track, or better yet, if you can get a set of systemd developers to attend, perhaps you can submit your own Microconference! https://linuxplumbersconf.org/ If you have any questions, feel free to reach to myself or the Linux Plumbers Program Committee: contact@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -- Steve Steven Rostedt Linux Plumbers Program Committee Microconference Lead _______________________________________________ systemd-devel mailing list systemd-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/systemd-devel
