-----------------------------***----------------------------- >From the Surface Transportation Board, Washington, D.C. -----------------------------***----------------------------- The federal Surface Transportation Board today announced it will hold a public hearing in Presque Isle, Maine, on May 10 to allow citizens and stakeholders to provide testimony on the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway's application to abandon 233 miles of rail line in Aroostook and Penobscot counties. The hearing will be held at the District Courthouse located at 27 Riverside Drive in Presque Isle. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. The courthouse will open at 8 a.m. All speakers and attendees must present valid government-issued identification and pass security screening to gain entry to the hearing. Anyone wishing to speak must file a written notice of intent with the Board no later than April 19. Speakers must identify themselves, the party they represent and the number of minutes they wish to speak. Speakers can file a notice of intent electronically through the Board's Web site, www.stb.dot.gov by clicking on "E-Filing." Written notices should be addressed to: Surface Transportation Board, 395 E Street SW, Washington, DC 20423-0001, Attn: STB Docket No. AB-1043 (Sub No. 1). Speakers at the hearing may, but are not required to, submit written copies of their testimony for the record.
