Surface Transportation Board Chairman Roger Nober today announced that the
public hearing originally scheduled to be held on Wednesday, August 11,
2004, at the STB's headquarters, has been postponed.  The hearing in the
"small railroad abandonments" proceeding, Class Exemption for Expedited
Abandonment Procedure for Class II and Class III Railroads, STB Ex Parte
No. 647, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 31, 2004, beginning at
10:00 a.m.

The STB postponed the hearing in a decision issued to the public
today.  That decision is available for viewing and downloading via the
agency's Web site at http://www.stb.dot.gov.  A printed copy of the Board's
decision also is available for a fee by contacting ASAP Document Solutions,
