My understanding is that this patch is trying to fix bugs in this commit: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable.git/commit/?h=linux-3.10.y&id=5f03ac13d87590b0ee879c77e68df63a3d9b3e07 The 3.10.y branch applied the original patch to three different places.
