Hi, please consider 
commit c1118b3602c2329671ad5ec8bdf8e374323d6343
For inclusion in stable kernels 3.12+, it fixes an issue as described here:
http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1379340

I've found that 3.10 is unaffected by this issue, but 3.12+ are up until the
above commit.

For v3.17.y it is a clean cherry-pick.
For earlier stable kernels, I'll include the backported patches in this thread.
