This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled serial: omap: do not override settings for RS485 support to my tty git tree which can be found at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/tty.git in the tty-next branch. The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree (usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.) The patch will also be merged in the next major kernel release during the merge window. If you have any questions about this process, please let me know. >From 51f93776b84dee23e44a7be880736669a01cec2b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Lino Sanfilippo <l.sanfilippo@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 3 Jan 2024 07:18:17 +0100 Subject: serial: omap: do not override settings for RS485 support MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The drivers RS485 support is deactivated if there is no RTS GPIO available. This is done by nullifying the ports rs485_supported struct. After that however the settings in serial_omap_rs485_supported are assigned to the same structure unconditionally, which results in an unintended reactivation of RS485 support. Fix this by moving the assignment to the beginning of serial_omap_probe_rs485() and thus before uart_get_rs485_mode() gets called. Also replace the assignment of rs485_config() to have the complete RS485 setup in one function.
