This is certainly better than magic numbers, but I was still wondering
how the delta really works. What are typical values of delta, and why
is that equivalent to updating jiffies?

Can you provide more technical details about why it turns out to be
effectively the number of jiffies that the jiffies are off by?

Also, how often do you see that an NMI is required to prevent a KGDB
stall? If not, just do:

?

But if your solution provides accurate results, that's fine with me. I
just don't understand coarse ktime that much and how it differs from
regular ktime, so I appreciate the education ;-)
