This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled NFSv4: Don't clear the open state when we just did an OPEN_DOWNGRADE to the 3.16-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: nfsv4-don-t-clear-the-open-state-when-we-just-did-an-open_downgrade.patch and it can be found in the queue-3.16 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 412f6c4c26fb1eba8844290663837561ac53fa6e Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 25 Aug 2014 22:09:08 -0400 Subject: NFSv4: Don't clear the open state when we just did an OPEN_DOWNGRADE From: Trond Myklebust <trond.myklebust@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> commit 412f6c4c26fb1eba8844290663837561ac53fa6e upstream. If we did an OPEN_DOWNGRADE, then the right thing to do on success, is to apply the new open mode to the struct nfs4_state. Instead, we were unconditionally clearing the state, making it appear to our state machinery as if we had just performed a CLOSE. Fixes: 226056c5c312b (NFSv4: Use correct locking when updating nfs4_state...)
