That's odd.  What does "lsusb -vd 1199:68c0" look like?  And could you
run a

 modinfo qcserial.ko | grep 1199p68

or similar against the original v3.14.5 qcserial driver?  I really do
not understand how the stable backport version can fail if the mainline
patches works.
