This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled
ACPI video: ignore BIOS initial backlight value for HP 1000
to the 3.4-stable tree which can be found at:

The filename of the patch is:
acpi-video-ignore-bios-initial-backlight-value-for-hp-1000.patch
and it can be found in the queue-3.4 subdirectory.
If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree,

On HP 1000 lapops, BIOS reports minimum backlight on boot and
causes backlight to dim completely. This ignores the initial backlight
values and set to max brightness.
