This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: Move the permission check in to the 3.14-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-move-the-permission-check-in.patch and it can be found in the queue-3.14 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From foo@baz Thu Jun 19 10:28:46 PDT 2014 From: "Eric W. Biederman" <ebiederm@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2014 14:26:25 -0700 Subject: net: Move the permission check in sock_diag_put_filterinfo to packet_diag_dump From: "Eric W. Biederman" <ebiederm@xxxxxxxxxxxx> [ Upstream commit a53b72c83a4216f2eb883ed45a0cbce014b8e62d ] The permission check in sock_diag_put_filterinfo is wrong, and it is so removed from it's sources it is not clear why it is wrong. Move the computation into packet_diag_dump and pass a bool of the result into sock_diag_filterinfo. This does not yet correct the capability check but instead simply moves it to make it clear what is going on. Reported-by: Andy Lutomirski <luto@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Signed-off-by: "Eric W.
