[PATCH 0/4] Input: Add INPUT_PROP_TOPBUTTONPAD device property to stable

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi All,

Now that INPUT_PROP_TOPBUTTONPAD has landed in Linus' tree we're going to
start relying on it as the one and only way to identify clickpads with top
buttons (as found on all new lenovo laptops) in upstream xf86-input-synaptics
(and libinput).

Therefor I would like to see this small patch-series which adds
INPUT_PROP_TOPBUTTONPAD added to the stable kernels. This will allow touchpads
which need it to just work on older distros as long as they follow the stable
kernel releases and update their xorg-x11-drv-synaptics.

I've already discussed this with Dmitry Torokhov, and he is ok with this going
into the stable series.

The patches as found in this mail-thread are straight cherry-picks on top of
3.14.2.

Regards,

Hans
