This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled staging: r8188eu: Calling rtw_get_stainfo() with a NULL sta_addr will to my staging git tree which can be found at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging.git in the staging-linus branch. The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree (usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.) The patch will hopefully also be merged in Linus's tree for the next -rc kernel release. If you have any questions about this process, please let me know. >From 9452bf560273e4de2395ffdd79024debfb0c1290 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Larry Finger <Larry.Finger@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 9 Apr 2014 11:12:58 -0500 Subject: staging: r8188eu: Calling rtw_get_stainfo() with a NULL sta_addr will return NULL This makes the follow-on check for psta != NULL pointless and makes the whole exercise rather pointless. This is another case of why blindly zero-initializing variables when they are declared is bad.
