This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled USB: Add NO_LPM quirk for Kingston flash drive to my usb git tree which can be found at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/usb.git in the usb-linus branch. The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree (usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.) The patch will hopefully also be merged in Linus's tree for the next -rc kernel release. If you have any questions about this process, please let me know. >From afaa2e745a246c5ab95103a65b1ed00101e1bc63 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Alan Stern <stern@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 2 Nov 2020 09:58:21 -0500 Subject: USB: Add NO_LPM quirk for Kingston flash drive In Bugzilla #208257, Julien Humbert reports that a 32-GB Kingston flash drive spontaneously disconnects and reconnects, over and over. Testing revealed that disabling Link Power Management for the drive fixed the problem. This patch adds a quirk entry for that drive to turn off LPM permanently.
