This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled x86_pkg_temp_thermal: Do not expose as a hwmon device to the 3.13-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: x86_pkg_temp_thermal-do-not-expose-as-a-hwmon-device.patch and it can be found in the queue-3.13 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 79786880a47a8c5b4c8146c03432b3387a07a169 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jean Delvare <jdelvare@xxxxxxx> Date: Sun, 2 Mar 2014 15:33:35 +0100 Subject: x86_pkg_temp_thermal: Do not expose as a hwmon device From: Jean Delvare <jdelvare@xxxxxxx> commit 79786880a47a8c5b4c8146c03432b3387a07a169 upstream. The temperature value reported by x86_pkg_temp_thermal is already reported by the coretemp driver. So, do not expose this thermal zone as a hwmon device, because it would be redundant.
